getting to know

As an award-winning interior designer, Marisa strives to design unique interiors that have a positive impact on her client’s lives and homes.  Born into an Italian family of designers and artisans, design has always been second nature to Marisa.  Growing up,  her life revolved around design.  It began with her mother, Joan Calabrese, a famous children's clothing designer and her father, a home builder.

For Marisa, great design begins with understanding her clients’ needs and expectations.  Marisa guides her clients through every phase of the design process, whether transitional or contemporary, across a vast range of styles by balancing colors, textures, and lighting to create a space that reflects her clients’ personalities and their design needs.  Her combination of design skills along with architectural understanding, allows for her to see the full potential of her client’s space.  Marisa also believes in developing client relationships on respect, trust, and confidence as one of the keys to her success.

Marisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Lehigh University. Since beginning her career in interior design, she has been awarded Best of Houzz for both service and design since 2013 and was also recognized in Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the area’s top interior designers just to mention a few.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
